What insurance is included?
All compulsory insurance is included in your quote. Your quote includes Third Party Liability, Collision Damage Waiver (Damage to the rental car with an excess) and Theft Protection (with an excess). You have the option of purchasing further cover when you collect the car: Excess waiver (reduces your excess liability to zero) and Personal Accident Insurance (This optional insurance provides benefits in case of injury or death of the driver in the event of an accident. The renter and any additional named drivers are also covered for damage or theft of Personal Property in or from the vehicle).
Is my mileage restricted?
There is an unlimited mileage allowance.
Where do I go to pick up the car, once booked?
If you are picking up at an airport, the Budget desks are located in the arrivals halls of each airport. Addresses for our city centre locations can be found here.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
If you have pre-booked we will hold the car for you, even if your flight is delayed. In cases where your delayed flight will be arriving outside our opening hours, contact the rental station and we will make arrangements to accommodate you.
I have decided I want a bigger car. What do I do now?
You can upgrade your car when you arrive at the car rental desk. We will gladly upgrade your car for you, pending availability.
What happens if the car breaks down?
In the unusual event of a breakdown, you have 24 hour breakdown assistance. The number to call is in the car and on the car rental agreements form.
Where can I rent a car in Ireland?
You can rent your car in many locations in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Click here for details of our car hire locations.
Does the credit card holder have to be the renter?
Yes, the renter must present a credit card in their own name at pickup.
What documents do I need for when I collect the car?
You will need your reservation number which is emailed to you when you book your car on this site. You will also need a current, valid driver's licence, which you will have held for at least two years. Travellers from overseas will need a licence issued in their country of residence along with an English translation (where appropriate). Some form of picture Identity is required, e.g. Passport, ID card etc.
What is the maximum time I can rent a car for?

Can I return the car outside of opening hours?
Please call our reservations department +353 (0) 9066 27711 if you want to arrange to drop back your car outside of the office opening hours. We will do our best to facilitate you.
Can I pre-book child seats on this website?
Yes, you can pre-book child seats and child booster seats on step 3 of the online booking process. Parents of children younger than 12 months are recommended to bring their own infant seat.
When do I pay for the car?
You pay for the car at the rental desk just before you pick-it up. Your credit card details are taken as security to book the car.
If I book a car on the site, how will I know that you have received my details?
You will receive a confirmation email from our reservations department.
How do I pay for tolls in Ireland?
You can pay in cash at all tolling booths in Ireland except the barrier free tolling on the M50 Motorway in Dublin. More information regarding this system can be found here
